We all know that the colors have significant roles to play in shaping the moods of an individual. Colors having different frequencies and wavelengths affect the sensory perceptions in different ways. Colors also represent different planets of the solar system. Each planet has been assigned a unique color in Vedic astrology. Yellow is for Jupiter, Pink is for Venus, Black or Dark Grey is for Rahu, Brown color is for Ketu, White is for Moon, Green is for Mercury, Navy blue or Black is for Saturn, Red is for Mars, and although Sun is essentially a mixture of all colors but White color is assigned for Sun in Vedic astrology.
Colors have the remedial effects according to Vaastu Shastra as well. Where any wrong placement is there due to the limitation of space in flat or rented accommodations which cannot be changed then the colors can be used to minimize or mitigate the ill effects. Generally white color is preferred for the entire house because of its harmless properties and its being a mixed bag of all colors. However remedial colors are used to enhance the planetary effects of any direction if any Vaastu defect is not rectifiable. For example, if the bedroom is located in South-East corner of the house which is not good as per Vaastu norms, then the best color for mitigating this defect is light Yellow; similarly if the kitchen is placed in South-West corner, then it can be neutralized with the colors only. In this situation the color of the kitchen slab should be pink and the kitchen walls should be painted with orange color. But if the kitchen is located in North-West corner of the flat or house, then the color of the walls should be painted in light blue and the kitchen slab should be White, otherwise it is bound to create domestic quarrels and the symptoms of hypertension will appear in females.
However the colors of any wall inside the house should not be black, dark brown, navy blue, purple or dark grey as these colors have the depressive effects and cause internal health hazards and sorrow for the family members.
Colors of gates in different direction:
Colors of the gates of boundary walls have also to be painted according to Vaastu principle. If the gates are not placed in the proper direction or corner, colors can be of good use.
If the gate happens to be in the South side of South-East corner, then the gate should be painted black but in case of East face of South-East, it should be painted Red.
The gates in South-West corner should however be painted black because of this corner being assigned to shadow planet Rahu. Even the South-West direction doors in a flat should also be made heavier by putting an additional channel door painted in black colors.
Black color should also be applied in case of Western gate of the house.
North-West gate of a house should be white but for more benefits of this gate, an auspicious planetary combination, Gaj Keshari Yoga can also be formed if we add Yellow or Golden Yellow with white color in North-West corner.
The gates of North-East should be painted in decorative colors Yellow, red, White and Golden so as to make it more vibrant and receptive to the beneficial energies coming into the house.
